A beautiful cemetery filled with magnolia trees and fascinating markers and tombs, this burial ground for Colonists (1750-1853) is believed to be the site of the grave of Button Gwinnett, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Established in 1750, this six-acre cemetery serves as the final resting place for many of Savannah's earliest settlers, including notable figures from the American Revolutionary War era. Colonial Park Cemetery (locally and informally known as Colonial Cemetery; historically known as the Old Cemetery[1]) is an 18th- and early 19th-century burial ground located in downtown Savannah, Georgia.
